LRBT’s 58 millionth patient, Hajiani, a young girl born into a farming family in rural Sindh, is the third of five sisters. Growing up in a rural area with no access to education, Hajiani had always dreamt of attending school, however there were none near her home. Her desire to study was also hindered by congenital cataracts, which impacted her vision.
Her father, a hardworking farmer, did his best to support his family, but the costs of healthcare were beyond their means. It was not until they visited Gharo, a neighboring town, that they learned about the possibility of treatment. With hope rekindled, Hajiani’s journey toward vision restoration began.
Through the support of the LRBT team, Hajiani was referred to the Korangi hospital for further treatment. After a thorough examination, it was determined that she needed surgery for her left eye. The road to recovery was not easy, but under the guidance and care of LRBT’s dedicated staff, Hajiani underwent successful surgery. 
Today, Hajiani’s world has changed. Her vision is restored, and with it, a future full of possibilities. For the first time, she can see clearly, and her dream of attending school is now within reach. Her story is a testament to the transformative power of healthcare and education, and to the life-changing work done by LRBT. With the support of LRBT donors, children across the nation can now look forward to a brighter future—one where the challenges of the past no longer hold them back.
LRBT’s Primary Eye Care Centers are beacons of hope for communities across Pakistan, providing free access to essential eye care, transportation to hospitals, and necessary medications. These centers eliminate barriers to treatment, offering critical support in regions where poverty and lack of resources often prevent people from seeking help. By restoring vision and improving quality of life, LRBT empowers individuals to regain independence, education, and productivity, while fostering brighter futures for entire communities.
