Sightsavers and LRBT collaborated to partner last year under wherein we are required to perform a total of 6853 cataract surgeries at
Sibi. This project targets the marginalized, disadvantaged poor populace residing in the peripheral areas of Quetta, Gwadar and Turbat,
the southwestern coast of Balochistan, over a period of three years. During the period April – June 2022, 179 surgeries were performed. This was below the planned target because of reluctance of patients during Ramazan followed by festivities during Eid holidays. The accumulated
number of surgeries that have been performed so far under this project totals 2237. We are also in contact with various health authorities to
spread awareness about the availability of these services at our Sibi facility.
